What Is Dial-up Networking
In Windows 95/98/2000, Dial-up Networking makes it relatively easy to establish a new connection to a remote dial-up service. All you have to do is select Make New Connection and follow the prompts. In NT 4.0, you have to fill in the blanks.
Windows 95/98
1. Click My Computer.
2. Click Dial-up Networking.
3. Click Make New Connection and follow prompts.
If Dial-up Networking is not present, you have to install it from your Windows 95/98 CD-ROM.
Have your CD-ROM available and do this
1. Select Start menu/Settings/Control Panel.
2. Select Add/Remove Programs.
3. Click Windows SETUP tab.
4. Double click Communications.
5. Enable Dial-up Networking.
6. Click OK and follow prompts.
Windows NT 4.0
1. Click My Computer.
2. Click Dial-up Networking.
3. Click New.
Windows 2000
1. Select Start menu/Settings/Control Panel.
2. Click Network & Dial-up Connection.
3. Click Make New Connection and follow prompts.
